Character MOOCers, love the module that we're in.
And one of the things I love the most about this module, is the use of if-then
statements as a means of increasing our self-control and our self-regulation.
And one of the reasons I love it so much, is because the agency it gives us.
The power of our own actions its stems from a body of research obviously it dates
all the way back to Walter Michelle.
Most recently its been built out by Dr. Gabriel Ottingen and Peter Gulwitzer
has a technical name called mental contrasting with implementation intention.
And a more casual name called WOOP.
And the WOOP stands for, which outcome obstacle plan.
And what we'd love you to do is we'd love you to try a WOOP out for yourself.
We're going to give you a link to go try it.
You're going to see Gabrielle and I doing a practice session.
And then we'd love you to come back, right to this page,
join a discussion forum, tell us what worked, what didn't, and
did your self control increase as a result of WOOPin it out.
Have fun.
