So now that we've reached the end of the course, thank you for that by the way, I thought it would be a good idea to just review what we've done. So this course is about writing and performing inspirational ceremonial speeches. And we've approached this in a pretty systematic way, following the basic rhetorical canons, invention, arrangement, style, memory, and delivery. So we started in week one with invention. And I would say, one of the biggest challenges in ceremonial speeches is getting the content down. So we talked about how in our ceremonial speeches, we're making value arguments, and how you might go about finding those values. Then we looked to support for our value claims, really focusing in on crafting stories as support. The goal of that week was to create the pieces of the speeches. And then in week two, we assembled those pieces, right? That's arrangement, we talked about some general models of arrangement, topical, informative and narrative. We worked on openers and closers. We talked about some specific concerns around speech genres, like introductory speeches, eulogies, award speeches, but the idea was to move from all those pieces into an outline. With that outline in place, we turned to style in week three, okay? Some stuff on stylistic devices, some stuff on tone and emotional levels, we worked on manuscripting. Because what we had done is we'd moved from outline and then hopefully by the end of week three, to a manuscript. So that allowed us to then, in the last week, last week, work on memory and delivery. And why would we do this? Because ceremonial speaking might be extemporaneous, but more often than not it's read or memorized. So we talked about performing from a manuscript, we talked about how to memorize speeches. But this is also where we touched a little bit on using humor in speeches and speech performance. So that was the course, thank you for your time and attention. I really do hope this course has provided you a useful set of tools. These ceremonial speeches, these social duty speeches, give you the opportunity to be eloquent. And that's a challenge, but it's also hugely rewarding. All that remains now is for you to use these tools and craft your excellent ceremonial speech assignment. [MUSIC]
