[MUSIC] Hello, this is Duck-Joo Lee. I gave you homework last time. One, two, three. Counting the numbers as you walked. 100 steps. I'm curious of the results, if you did this. Did you count to 100 at once? Or, as you were continuing, one, two, did you find yourself being caught up in a different thought before you knew it? Even if it was just a passing thought, sometimes, you forget what number you counted up until. Starting again, and again, how many times did you have to start again to be successful in counting to one hundred? And also, what did you feel through this simple activity? yes, some of you may have realized, this activity shows us how we cannot focus at a single moment. The multiple stray thoughts that linger in your head. There are so many thoughts, even when you are walking. Imagine, what it would be like when you have your eyes closed? When you can make those recalled memories or stories of your life disappear. Your mind becomes pure and your inner side gains strength. Then, you can fight stress. I want to describe the recalled thoughts as ��mind's gravity.�� Just like how the British physicist Newton discovered the laws of gravity by seeing a falling apple. If you consistently self-reflect, you will get to know how much your mind��s gravitational force is. Gravity pulls any object with a mess and according to the law of universal gravitation, it attracts other masses in order to become bigger just like this, when someone achieves his greed, another greed forms and becomes bigger. At the same time, the weight of one's mind also gets larger. Therefore, through self-reflection, finding the pictures of pride inferiority, love, hate and worries needs to be the first priority as those minds prevent me from becoming the Universe mind. For example, when we launch a spaceship we should gain momentum by firing the rocket engine in order to overcome the Earth��s gravity. However, gravity cannot be overcome at once. There is the first stage rocket, second stage rocket, and the third stage rocket. Like this, stages are required. Through staging, Earth's gravity is overcome and the spaceship is able to fly freely in Space. As gravity does not affect it, it is able to go to the Moon and the Mars even with a small quantity of energy. Similarly, stages are required for a human minds to be emptied and they become the free universe mind. The self-reflection that we are doing corresponds the level one momentum stage. We will start today's self-reflection. Close your eyes. Time goes by. Ten years. Twenty years go by. Fifty years. One hundred years. Two hundred years have passed, I'm dead. I have died and become a spirit. I leave Earth and go up to the infinite Universe. 100 years have passed since going to the Universe. I can see the Earth, the size of a bean far away. Out of my life and my memories at Earth, recall the most beautiful and the happiest times. All of those things are stories that happensed in that small far away Earth. One hundred, two hundred years ago. Keep your eyes closed. Starting from your childhood, recall your happiest times. Your parents complimented you because you did your chores well. You were complimented because your grades improved. Your parents boast about you here and there. I tried harder because I do not want to disappoint my parents. Were those times of trying happy? Were your anxious that maybe you would do worse than before You yielded in order to be a good friend, Did you yield because you sincerely wanted to? Reflect to see if you have ever regretted your decision. Next, see if you have ever hesitated in a repeating, similar situation. What is the difference between what you think of yourself and what others think of you? Were you ever afraid that your inner thoughts would get caught? Recall the times when your devoted and sacrificed yourself for your family. When they thanked you with praises, and compliments. These were exciting and overwhelming moments. However, until when did they continue to do this. What was it that you were expecting? There were times of disappointment and discouragement. When your family did not fulfill your expectations, reflect to see what the background of that mind was. Recall the times when you spent a sweet time with your loved one. What kind of minds did you have when the moment that you thought was going to last forever, ended? Why does every kind of happiness never last? Was happiness of those moments real? Slow and steady, recall each moment one by one. Today. We will finish here. We will discard our recalled thoughts with the subtraction method whether those thoughts were good or bad. A lot of people often ask why we discard even the good thoughts, the reason for that is because this too, is my own illusionary picture world. The false word is made of non-existent. Past histories. Which in turn, makes notions, and the standards, for comparison. Hence, it prevents, and disturbs, true happiness. While I was giving a lecture at a University, I met some students. Some students who were exceptional students at school but could not adapt to university life. Other students lost the strength To exhibit their full potential due to the large expectations from people around them. Some people could not move on from their past loved one. And therefore could not love anymore. Others could not forget about their past successful results, and could not start anything creative. The happiness of the past is probably the barrier that is stopping real happiness. Therefore, whether it is a good memory that is recalled or a bad memory. It must be discarded. As we were self-reflecting today, you guys would have already felt it. the recalled moment that makes you smile.
