[MUSIC] In my role as SEO Manager, I manage all SEO projects on our team, both internal projects we work on, as well as external client sites. At any given time, I can be managing five to ten websites, as well as a small team of employees. In this role, I manage the client relationships from start to finish. This often means assisting with the sales, to managing and executing an SEO strategy. Members of my teams are often tasked with creating a road map for individual clients. These road maps list out individual issues we see. Priorities of those issues, performance monitoring, and scheduling regular recurring meetings with clients. On the agency side of things, we don't implement recommendations we make to clients, but we must guide them into getting these changes implemented themselves. This may mean working with stakeholders, developers and other outside resources. There's often a lot of red tape to go through. So, when we a make recommendation, we have to clearly define the value of our recommendations so the client knows it's worthwhile for them to invest time and resources to fix this issues. We also have to be ready to follow up once the changes are made to report any improvements we are seeing and forecast our expectation over the coming months. Because we work with a variety of different clients, and help guide them in correcting these issues, we have to work cross functionally with a variety of different departments, such as web developers, IT, content managers, social media managers, and more. It's important to develop a good relationship with these other departments, and evangelize SEO appropriately. That way, you can build excitement and encourage these changes. One of the most frustrating aspects of SEO can be when clients don't implement the changes you recommend, and due to that don't see the results you know they could attain. On the flip side, having the opportunity to work with such a wide variety of sites and people is an enjoyable and educational experience. You're exposed to a wider range of SEO issues than you may encounter in an in house role for example. Because of the fact that we work with so many sites and departments, it's important that employees I hire have good project management and people skills.
