Talk or review some of the legal tech companies that are disrupting the legal sector.
First of all, if you want to discover a lot
of companies that are in the legal tech sector,
I recommend to use the Discover Legal Technology done by
CodeX where you can find different kind of legal tech companies: marketplace,
document automatization, practice management.
The first company that we are gonna to talk is LegalZoom.
LegalZoom falls in that category that we say that they are some kind of lawyers
online where the users or where the companies can do the legal stuff,
the legal job, by online.
For example, you can register a trademark,
you can incorporate the company, whatever.
A second company that I want to talk about is Clerky.
Clerky is a very interesting project;
it is a legal tech project that helps company in the first steps.
It's a way where a startup can just start doing the legal paperworks.
That is very interesting because those kind of companies help the users and
help entrepreneurs to do all the legal problems and solve all the legal problems,
and they have done that online.
You can just corporate,
you can see formation of the company, fundraising, hiring,
and commercial, and they provide all the legal stuff that you need in each step.
That is very interesting because it's an approach of a legal service but done online.
Another company that is doing an amazing is Rocket Lawyer that was invested from,
for example, from [inaudible] ,
and they are doing the same like Legal Zoom.
They provide legal service online for individuals and for companies.
And they are doing in an automatic way and they,
for under my point of view,
they are supplying those services that small law firm provide to their customers.
That it's a real problem for
the small law firms if they don't try to change their business model.
Companies like Rocket Lawyers that you can provide estate planning, divorce,
marriage, or finance, all those kinds of things,
they can provide those service online.
Or for example, they, for example,
is what happens if you need more assistance?
They also offer direct contact with a lawyer.
You can talk with a lawyer and all around the United States.
Rocket Lawyer also has expanded to Europe.
Another company, if we just change the legal tech sector that we are talking,
and if we just jump to what is called analytics legal tech companies,
we can talk about Ravel Law.
Ravel Law is a company that was incorporated in San Francisco,
and what they do is,
for example, is called analytics.
You can, for example, check in which kind of
problems if you will have more chances to win or more chances to lose.
And also if you ask for example,
for a specific tribunal,
you say, okay, what does that tribunal explain or say in that particular case?
And here you can say the percentage of
the times that they have say yes or not for a question for example.
Also it's very interesting because that company Revel
was acquired by LexisNexis a few weeks,
a few months ago.
Another company in the legal tech analytics sector is Casetext.
It's a company that could helps you to understand problems inside the case and in
a automated research assistant that is called CARA is gonna assist you to
solve and to provide information to resolve better or prepare a better document.
Also, in this sector,
you can see ROSS.
ROSS is a company that provides also analytics assistant.
They say that they are providing additional intelligence help for the lawyers.
If we change the sector and we just jump for
analytics legal tech companies to companies that provide services to lawyers,
one of the companies that I really like is eShares.
eShares provide cap table management.
It's a cap table management that helps you to
[inaudible] one of the biggest problems that has every a startup or every company,
that it's manage his cap table.
And normally, that is done by lawyers; and normally,
they use a spreadsheet online or Microsoft spreadsheet.
And with that company eShares,
you can solve that problem because they provide all the tools to
just keep that cap table updated by they software.
And see that a lot of great companies are using that kind of solutions.
Now we can change the legal tech sector and we can see, for example,
legal tech companies that provide help for the users or from
those individuals or for those companies that are looking for a lawyer.
And for example, in UK,
we have Lexoo that helps you with reviews,
that then you can have reviews on the lawyers and help you to choose the right lawyer.
Also, we can find elAbogado,
that is the leading company in the Spanish as
a legal tech company that provides help to the users to find they lawyer.
And with elAbogado, more than 10,000 lawyers are getting new customers.
And it's a well-used platform that helps you, for example,
if you're looking for a lawyer in Barcelona,
and they help you to just choose the right lawyer.
And also, they will know companies that does same in the States is,
for example, Avvo that has more than 10 years providing reviews of lawyers.
And also in that sector,
we can find FindLaw that probably does the same work as Avvo.
Those are a list of legal tech companies.
I just recommend that if you want to be discover more legal tech companies,
use CodeX TechIndex where you can find a lot,
lot of different legal tech companies.
