So how does the course work? It has a duration of five weeks, throughout which we will be looking at different topics and principles of computing, and putting them into practice when creating our computer programs. Each week's material will be delivered as short videos supported by slides and code examples. There will be optional quiz questions in the videos to help you verify that you have correctly understood new concepts. >> In order to help you reflect on the topics covered in each week, we will include additional videos of interviews with computer experts and professionals in other fields. >> The coursework for Code Yourself includes quizzes and programming projects. And, it aims to equip you with hands on programming experience. There will be a quiz every week containing multiple choice questions which may require that you write, test, or analyze your programs. You will have the opportunity to submit the same quiz for at most five times, helping you improve your score. Apart from the quizzes, there will be two programming projects, one in week three, and one in week five. These will be peer graded, which means that they will be marked by your classmates, and that you will mark the projects of some of your fellow students. >> One of the most important resources for this course is the discussion forum, where you can interact with your classmates to discuss the topics we cover every week. Whenever you have a question during this course, just put it on the forum. Similarly, you can help your classmates by answering their questions there. >> You're strongly encouraged to use the discussion forum to interact with and learn from each other. This way you'll discover that programming can be a very social activity, and as with all social activities, we expect you to follow the appropriate etiquette. We are aware that many among you are under the age of 18, and therefore we have developed a handbook of good practice for the use discussion forum, which we expect that you read carefully. This course is unique in the sense that it will be delivered in both in English and Spanish. I will be your instructor in English. >> And I will be your instructor in Spanish. >> But you will get to see both of us every now and then. If you feel confident about your foreign language skills or if you're just curious, you're welcome to visit the course website in Spanish, and participate in the forum there.
