It's hard to believe we're already at the point in the course where we're discussing the final project, but here we are. The project is a chance for you to synthesize all of the information that you've learned in this course and apply it in a practical hands-on way. When you are ready to submit your project, click on the assignments on the course page then click "My Submission". This project consists of seven parts. If you completed the graded quiz in week 4, you have already done the first four parts and can copy your answers into the project or provide a revised version of them. We'll go through these four parts too so that you can see where to paste your content. To begin with, you will name and briefly describe the organization or setting where you want to introduce an integrative therapy. This can be a place where you currently work or one that you want to work in the future. Describe the patient or client population including why you're seeing the patients, their symptoms or issues, their age range and other important factors. Remember you can cut and paste this from your week 4 quiz and then revise it if you want. This is true for the next three prompts as well. After that, you'll identify the integrative therapy you want to use and discuss its potential benefits including specific patient's symptoms or issues that might address. Next, you'll discuss the potential impact of introducing this therapy on your organization or setting. Think about what you're trying to accomplish with this therapy and how it would work logistically. Then you'll discuss the research evidence for potential effectiveness of the therapy. This is the end of the content where you can cut and paste from the week 4 quiz. You will want to identify potential risks including any safety issues cited in the research literature as well as cost and potential personal or cultural discomfort. Discuss the requirements to administer the integrative therapy including scope of practice and regulation. Finally, you will discuss the cost and considerations for the training and equipment needed to introduce the integrative therapy you've chosen. This concludes your project. Make sure that you've checked and sign the honor code and then hit "Preview". You will be prompted to review your submission. Hit "Preview" again to confirm. After you've previewed your work, the "Submit" button should appear at the bottom of the page by the honor code. Make sure you get the submission confirmation at the top of your page. From here, you can go on to review your classmate's work. After you submit your project, it needs to be reviewed by at least three people for your grade to become official. In order for your official course grade to be released, you must review at least three of your peers submissions as well. Again, you'll get the most out of this project if you pick a topic relevant to your professional and personal practice and you put a genuine effort into thoroughly reviewing the projects from your peers. Their work will teach you different applications of these therapies in real life situations. Step-by-step instructions and examples can be found in the instructions for your Peer Review Project reading. Use this as a guide to make sure that your project meets all the criteria.
