Welcome to our course on Fintech, Disruptive innovations: Implications for Society. In this module, we're going to be looking at implications for your career. Because that may be the part of society you care most about, is you. But it's about careers in finance in general implications for employment and implications for institutions, and what they're going to need. This is part of our course on Fintech, Disruptive Innovations, where we've looked at Evolution versus Revolution, Diversity of Impact. Predicting the Future of Fintech, where we looked at how is it going to affect different companies or different parts of the Fintech market. Now, finally career implications how's it going to affect you. In this module, we're going to be looking at an overview to the module, to this particular career implications module. We're going to be looking at in our second video, how are skills and capabilities needed for careers in the finance industry in general changing. Now, next video, we're going to be looking at the Growth and Decline in Finance Markets, who are the winners, who are the losers, where's the business opportunities or growth and how is that going to change where you might think about. The answer or the insights may surprise you, because it does not say or we will not say there that big firms will win or lose, small firms will win or loose, we'll say, it's much more complicated than that. That some big firms will win, some small firms will win, some small firms will lose. So, there will be big winners and losers, they just may not be exactly who you might have identified. You may have to think a little bit more about your company and whether they fit into the category of who might be winning, or whether they fit into those that get disrupted and lose by innovation in their industry. Then, we're going to look in the next session about how business structures are going to be changing. We'll lead into that in Growth and Decline in Financial Markets. So, these two sessions are tied together, fairly closely linked. As we look at where are the opportunities for winners and losers, and what may be happening in a very different way of organizing, structuring or running businesses in the finance industry. Things are going to become more flexible, employment more flexible, more consultancies, more outsourcing, more intermediaries, more disintermediation, more challenges, and trying to say, who's in or outside the firm. As the boundaries of the firm become less clear, then they have meant historically. In the last session, we're going to talk about career implications of Innovation and Failure. Why is working for a startup great? An innovative pioneer great and why is it terrible? Because it's both. It's certainly riskier and there are some clear implications of failure that you want to think about, before you make your career decisions that might become less easy to reverse, and then we'll summarize where we've been. So, that's it for this module. Where are we going, as we think about your career implications. We hope you enjoy and learn something that may cause you to reflect, and think about, where are you going in your career and what could you do to make your prospects better. Thank you.
