Here's a little exercise about what I value. So we've talked about what's on your smartphone, that's just designed to prime or prompt this idea of what a value means. And some people may not have things they value on their smartphone but a lot of people do. But here's a more specific way of getting at what you value the most. And it's done through seven questions that I'm going to ask you. So in this exercise, I'd love to have you think about, first of all, what matters most in your life? What are things that are most important in your life? Another question is who relies on you? Do you have kids who rely on you? Do you have parents who rely on you? Do you have siblings who rely on you? How about friends? Do you have a dog or a cat that relies on you? So do you have people who rely on you? Because those people become super important. I hope they're super important to you because they rely on you. And then another question is who inspires you? And this could be a person who is alive or a person who is ancient. Could be Aristotle inspires you, could be George Washington or Abe Lincoln inspires you. But it also could be your mother or your father, could be a brother or sister. It could be a friend or some public figure who inspires you. So think about who inspires you when you're thinking about what you value the most in your life. Again, we're trying to focus on the things that are most important in your life. Another might be what causes do you care about? So think about now, whether it's some political cause or an environmental cause or maybe a local cause, maybe it's a cause related to the arts. So what are some causes that you care about? What are you grateful for? Who are the people that you're grateful for? What's the situation that you might be grateful for? Are you grateful for living where you are, for example. Another is what gets you out of bed in the morning? When you're waking up, you might just want to sleep in because you have nothing that gets you out of bed. But when you are thinking about, I have to get up and do this, what is that? Is that an important thing to you? Is it something that you value? What gets you out of bed? And finally, how do you want to be remembered? We're going to return to that pretty soon because how you want to be remembered is a super important one. Now if you're using the Purposeful application, all of this is done for you on the application. And you have these same questions, these exact same special seven questions that relate to what you value most in your life. And when you click on these, you actually get examples of what matters most. I actually talked about this a bit in the Purposeful application. And then you're given a space to write in or dictate in what is mattering most to you and what is most important to your life.
