[MUSIC] Hi. In this video, we're going to be discussing navigating in unity. There's two ways to navigate in your scene view in Unity. One is by using the scene gizmo on the right-hand side of the scene panel. Another is using the hand tool on the left-hand side of the Unity interface. So the first thing we're going to do is looking at the scene gizmo. The first thing we need to check is that we can see the scene gizmo on the right. There's multiple reasons why you might not see the scene gizmo. One of them is that you're on the game tab. Another is that the scene gizmo has been locked. So the first thing we're going to do is unlock our scene gizmo. Now as you can see, the scene gizmo controls the orbit of our scene view. So we have the y-axis, the left axis and the z-axis. So by clicking each one we can change the view in the scene. And the center square centers it, centers the view. Easy, right? Now, as you can see at the bottom of the scene gizmo, we have some text that also indicate where or at which orbit or what side we are looking at the scene from. So we can see right, back, bottom, front, left and top. In order to return back to our default settings, we would make sure that both perspective and free is selected. And then here we are, put back on our default view. Like we previously showed, we can lock the rotation of the scene gizmo. So now we can't rotate in the scene. And we can simply take this off by clicking back on the padlock on the top right corner of the screen. Now that's one way of navigating. Another is using the hand tool on the left hand side of the ENT interface. So making sure that it's selected. There's three things that we can do using this hand tool: zoom, orbit or pivot, and move about our screen. So, first thing, how to move? What we will do using a mouse is click on the left hand side, left hand's button on the mouse, click down and drag left, right, up, and down. As you can see we're moving in our screen. Another way which is to zoom, and to note I'm using a mouse with a roller ball in the middle. We can use that to zoom in and out of our screen. If you're using a Mac or another laptop with a trackpad on the keyboard space, you can use that to zoom in and out. On the Metro Pad I'm using two fingers to move up and down, and that's allowing me to zoom. Last is to orbit around the space. To do this we're going to right-click on our mouse, Hold down and move about. As you can see on the hand tool, the icon has changed to an eye. And you can see that our movements are also being mirrored by the scene gizmo. Lastly, we can move about in our scene view by using the directional keys on our keyboard. This'll create a walkabout effect. So by pressing the up arrow we can move forward. Down, we can move backwards. Left we can move left, and right we can move right. Pretty simple. How about you give that a try? [MUSIC]
