In this video, I'm going to be making a low poly version of the strap mount. The next piece I'm going to do is the strap bars that I didn't make a high poly of, because I'm not going to need to bake them. They're small enough details and they're so cylindrical, the bake isn't really going to give me a lot of information. But there is a tricky thing to unwrap these kind of cylinder objects. We know we can unwrap these little side planar objects just fine. They're pretty simple, but something like this, we want nice straight and even lines but it's really hard to unwrap automatically. Fortunately, there's a couple of tricks that I like to use. By going to modify unitize, I take every single face and I associate it with the one-to-one space all right on top of each other. This might normally not seem like something we want to do, but if I select every edge that runs along these and then I de-select one of the inside edges, when I do move in so edges, you'll see it sews everything together in a nice even grid. Then by scaling it, I can control, make sure like I used the grid here, to make sure that everything is relatively square. My textual density is pretty even and this will ensure that even as the form wraps around, that the UVs are always really straight. So I can fit these into place and now I have all the pieces on one of the bars on one side. I can just mirror over and replace the other one with one that's already on rapt and then it's a simple matter of just taking the shells and laying them all out together. Let's bring the body back and make sure everything still lines up where it should and could see with the mirroring I have to make a little bit of an adjustment. But it saves me a time on having to repeat all that unwrapping. Let's move these out of the way. Don't forget to rename them and then for the unwrap on the bars part, I mostly just don't need to do much. I just don't need any of the faces on the tops and bottoms because I'll never see them. Then I'll just do a simple unfold and layout. Let's combine, let's unfold all of these together and again fixing non-manifold geometry, whenever you see that pop up. There we go, now we can line them all up together with layout and move these out of the way. I can see in this recording that I accidentally named these both underscore high, but I'll come back in there and I fix these later. That's it for the strap bars and now it's time to move on to the next piece.
