[MUSIC] Welcome to lecture five. I think this cartoon tells everything. You can see the CIO. He has to manage a very diverse ecosystem of people. Internet people with different skills, for those refectories. People running project are doing project. People running infrastructure and people doing these S reports. They are not the same type of people. He has to manage suppliers and he has to manage his clients. It's a lot of people to manage. Managing people has a lot to do with organization. So in this lecture, we will think a lot about how to build an organization, and how to run it. This is my favorite quote, again from Auguste Detoeuf. He says, there are no technical problems, there are only human problems. It is very true. In most of the projects worker Roy had to do, it started with diagnosis from the client which was, we cannot complete this project because we have a technical problem. I have never encountered a technical problem. The problem were human problem. Miscommunication between IT and business. Miscommunication between infrastructure and project people. This was the problem, not technical problem. So how are we going to work in this lecture? We'll start with building an IT organization, what are the building blocks? How to think about an IT organization, and it's not only about structure. What type of people do you need? What workforce do you need? How to think about workforce as to have a strategic view of your workforce need, and that's one of the key concepts. You have the workforce today is just as a legacy of your IT organization, but it's probably not the right workforce for the future. So you have to help people go through that and transform into that. You need to think about outsourcing and offshoring. That's a part of today's requirement of an organization. And finally, you should use sociology to help the organization cope with change. To make them change and have the right behavior. This is one of the most important lecture and this is where people are struggling a lot. So, welcome and let's work together on this one.
