Adam Fein

Assistant Provost for Educational Innovation

Bio

Adam Fein is the assistant provost for educational innovation and is involved in shaping campus strategy and providing campuswide support for innovations in classroom and online education. He assists academic units with the development of new types of educational programs, especially online programs, guiding campus policies around online programs and promoting the use of data-driven research and analytics to improve student learning outcomes. Adam joined the Illinois campus in 2001 after earning his Ed.M. in human resource education from the University of Illinois. He has served in a number of online education and outreach positions on campus, most recently as an associate director of the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning, where he was responsible for online strategy and development. Adam received his Ph.D. in 2017 in the Department of Educational Policy, Organization & Leadership from the University of Illinois. His research focused on the examination of the cognitive theory of multimedia learning and the effects of disruptive innovation theory in higher education.
