Bio

I am an instructor in the Mechanical Engineering department at the University of Colorado at Boulder. Previously, I was a postdoctoral researcher in the Electrical, Computer, and Energy Engineering department at the University of Colorado. I graduated with a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2010. Research Interests
  • Design, Model, and Control of Mechatronics Systems
  • Real-Time Embedded Optimization
  • Applications of Optimization
  • Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Education

I am interested in control and system theory. My focus is in design, modeling, and control of mechatronic systems. I am also interested in the application of convex optimization in mechatronics and the numerical implementation of solvers needed to attain a solution in real-time. I am especially interested in using robotics as a mechanism for technology education. Also I'm interested in K-12 science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) educational outreach.
