Stephan Mergenthaler

Visiting professor


Stephan Mergenthaler is Associate Director, Strategic Foresight at the World Economic Forum in Geneva, as well as Non-resident Fellow with the Global Public Policy Institute in Berlin (GPPi). <br> <br>His research interests include rising powers, global security governance, EU foreign policy and EU-China relations. His publications include The New World of UN Peace Operations: Learning to Build Peace? (Oxford University Press 2011) as well as commentary in international media such as the International Herald Tribune, DIE ZEIT online, Spiegel online and EU Observer, among others. <br> <br>He holds a Master of Science in International Relations from the London School of Economics as well as a Master of Arts in International Affairs and Security Studies from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po). He was a visiting fellow at George Washington University’s Elliot School of International Affairs in Washington DC and graduated from Sciences Po’s Franco-German undergraduate programme. <br>
