Bio

I have been a lecturer/senior lecturer in the University of Edinburgh since 1996. My teaching focuses on developmental psychology, in particular developmental factors in health and mental health. My teaching has an applied focus on how developmental psychology can help us to work with children and young people in clinical, social, educational and research settings. I research a wide range of aspects of developmental psychology, including:
  1. Child and adolescent health and mental health
  2. Children's understanding of biology and health
  3. Development of Theory of Mind
  4. Learning disabilities
  5. Children's interactions with animals
