Bio

Mark Elgar is a Professor of Evolutionary Biology at the University of Melbourne. His research interests include the evolutionary significance of foraging, mating and social behaviour, using insects and spiders as model species. He enjoys facilitating the research of others, and has several national and University awards for research supervision. In his free time, Mark enjoys cycling, furniture renovation, walking his dog and wondering how to improve his vocabulary.
